I regard the cycle of “Change” in schools as a “Human experience” and through the experience of “Change/Improvement” I connect the humanness of “Vulnerability, Courage, Mindfulness and Service” in whatever arena you operate and lead within the school. Cultivating positive relationships underpins all my work in school improvement, leadership formation and leadership coaching. My approach is to connect heart, mind and spirit to the many facets of leadership formation and school improvement.

I offer a number of Professional Learning programs that are tailored to the needs of your school and my approach is open and flexible. You may wish to consider as an example:

1, 2 or 1/2 days interactive workshops with Principals and Leadership Teams or staff

My work with Principals and leadership teams around formation, focuses on building leadership efficacy, presence, confidence, courage and skills and a common language to lead and engage in having, courageous conversations;

High Performing Teachers, Teams and Schools program

To enable teachers, teams and schools to be “High Performing” depends greatly on having all four preconditions of school improvement in place consistently and sustained over a period of years. The same can be said for the professional teams we work in at schools. When we do not have an orderly environment within the team, we miss golden opportunities to bring about sustainable school improvement.

These are some of the focus areas around Leadership Formation/Coaching and Whole School Improvement that I facilitate and lead:

  • Courageous and Intelligent Conversations: Leadership formation/coaching (I offer:  group sessions, paired sessions, individual sessions) 
  • Focus on High Performing Teams and Teachers
  • Peer Companion Observation and Feedback Program
  • Leadership Companion Observation and Feedback Program
  • Building Teacher efficacy through evidencing the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and Leaders
  • Action Research projects in PLC’s with a focus on improving teacher pracitices, and student learning outcomes
  • Focus on Leading Teams: how teams are formed and the various stages of a teams development and how as a leadership team we serve all members within our school.
  • Aligning and evidencing the AITSL standards in conjunction with the Annual Review Meeting process
  • Leading Learning Walks 
  • Development of High Performing Teachers, Teams and Executive (Leadership) Charters
  • Leadership Journals: Leading for learning, for service, for whole school improvement ( time allocated during Executive Meetings to write in journals: I steer this with prompts or questions and these are usually related to where we are at as a team, or if a member of leadership had a “difficult conversation with a colleague, parent, student)
  • Learning and teaching practices which contribute to effective pedagogies
